Happy New year!
Sorry i wasn't able to post. i got problems with my PC, but its fixed now.
Yes Oleg, you are correct, but the problem is i'm not in a western country, i'm in the Phillipines. I'm still in college and the high shipping cost of ordering books is something i can't afford just yet. So my chance is just the bookstores.
I've seen the movie, it was nice. But i'm just confused. They went back to the past. They lived there for sometime but in doing so, didn't they tamper with history? and because they tampered with history ,something in the present might be change as well, am i right?
In the end, when they came to the present,they saw the grave of there friend, the one that got his ear slashed. What does that mean? Does that mean that they were meant to be part of history? does that mean that they were destined to travel back in time?

I like your questioning Joannie.
Suppose time is not a lineair thing; but is like the Universe , always expanding, into all directions.
And suppose the outcome of events , like the Universe, is infinite;
then everything that happens can have multiple outcomes.
So perhaps one of the outcomes was that they could be destined to travel back in time;
but that does not exclude the other outcome; the one that happened before they traveled back into time, to exist as well.
Perhaps it works that way with Destiny.
Multiple roads and infinite possibilities on those roads, depending on the steps we take.
I'm always struggling with the concept that "once something has happened you can't turn back the clock".
But even with that being true; there's always a chance to 'do it again' and change the outcome.

Okey, i think i got the point now.
So, in the Novel, it means that Destiny depends in our decisions and actions. It all depends on us and the many possible factors.
Any way, on the book Timeline, there were many points missed. Especially about the explaination about thow the Machine works.
And i believe that was one of the most important part.
But all in all ,Time was one of MC's best. But i admit, for me, the Book works way better than the Movie version. Among the character, i think that Gerard Butler was perfect for the character of marek. But i enjoyed the movie too. It was fun. But the Novel was "Breathtakingly Awesome."

Hi Joannnie,
Did you know that Gerard Butler (and I agree with you entirely) also did a main part in a Beowulf movie?
In fact I think I'm gonna post this in the 13th warrior thread.
Something just popped into my head.

 Gerard Butler is definitely the man for those kinds of roles.
Really? He is also part of Beowolf? I haven't seen that movie but I've seen his movie 300. Which he did a stunning role too.
In Timeline, his character did a wonderful part. It is in his character (as Marek) that we see the values that passionate people posses to the things they value and aspire most.

The title of the dvd is Beowulf & Grendel and Butler plays Beowulf.
It's a bit the look of a low budget film but I like the atmosphere they've put in it;and of course....Gerard.

I love Gerard Butler! I noticed him when I watched the movie Timeline, and I think he is a wonderful actor! He is also in the movie P.S. I Love You, which just came out.

Nice! Looks to me that we're both Gerard's fans.
Anyway, i also watch his Movie,"Dracula 2000". He play as an erotic vampire. I didn't seem to recognize him then. But when i saw his movie Timeline and 300 thats when i realized his a wonderful actor afterv all.
And with what Ingrid said, I hope i can watch that Movie Beowulf and Grendel.
How about Paul Walker as the role of Chris?
What are your opinions about his role?

Well who knows, Spielberg has picked up Pirate Latitudes. Maybe if that's a success; he'd be willing to do a re-make of Timeline. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Speaking of the video version of Timeline, has anyone played the game version? The description of this is in Michael's book section.
