Pardon me if I didn't do my homework on this site correctly. maybe I'm asking a question already answered somewhere, but I saw the movie "Congo" last night, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

From what I remember ( I read the book some time ago) the film is pretty accurate to the book.
Can anybody tell me if MC was happy with the reflection of his book in this movie and how it was looked upon by the audiences?

I remember reading somewhere that Crichton wasn't happy with the film adaptation of Congo. I'll see if I can find the exact quote somewhere.

The movie was, in my not humble opinion, only "fairly" close to the book. There were a number of small but notable differences between them.

However, I am a fan of both the movie and the book. (And I would also be interested in seeing that quote about why Dr. Crichton is/was unhappy with the adaptation.)

I found that the movie was not nearly what I pictured the book to me. Even though the story was the same, I saw the movie as totally different than the book.
